LightPhone è un cellulare pensato per avere meno funzioni di un normale smartphone. E il suo vantaggio competitivo sta tutto qui. Ti obbliga ad usare meno il telefono. Da cui il claim: “your phone away from phone.” Ci sta. È un prodotto che si inserisce nel mega trend del digital detox. Quello che trovo eccessivo è il prezzo: 350 dollari per avere un telefono che ha le stesse funzioni di un Nokia 3310 (che costa meno di 50€).
Tuttavia il fondatore di Lightphone giustifica così il prezzo: “The value of Light Phone is not just the object itself. The value is the experience that you break away from the internet, from social media, from all the manipulation. You’re free now. This is your life. What are you going to do?” E l’esperienza evidentemente vale. Visto che su Indiegogo il nuovo Lightphone 2 ha raccolto 3.165.677 Euro da 10.732 backers.
